1. Who we are

LuckyhanStudio (“we”, “us”) develops the Emotion Bin Android application (the “App”). This policy explains what the App does and does not collect, and what rights you have. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

2. What you write

The text you type in the App is treated as the most sensitive thing in it, and is handled accordingly:

• It is not written to any file or database on your device.
• It is not transmitted over the network to us or to anyone else.
• It is not written to logs, crash reports, analytics events, or ad requests.
• It is not analysed — we do not extract keywords, names, sentiment, or meaning from it.
• Autofill is disabled on the writing field, and the keyboard is asked not to learn from what you type there.
• When you begin discarding, the text is removed from the App’s memory before the animation starts. If the App is closed while you are writing, the text is not recovered.

3. What the App stores on your device

If insight data is turned on (it is on by default, and you can turn it off), the App saves a small record on your device after each completed session. That record contains no text — only:

• The feeling you selected, if any (for example “Anger”)
• The discard effect you used (Burn, Tear or Dissolve)
• The peak level your emotion gauge reached, as a number
• A coarse bucket for how much you wrote (for example “Medium”) — never an exact character count
• A coarse bucket for how long you wrote (for example “under 3 minutes”)
• How you said you felt afterwards, if you answered
• The time the session was completed

The App also stores your settings (language, haptics, reduced motion, hold alternative, last used effect, insight preference) and the counters it needs to limit how often ads are shown. All of this stays on your device.

4. What we never collect

• Your name, email address, phone number, or any account identifier
• Your contacts, photos, files, or precise location
• The text you write, a hash of it, a preview of it, or any words from it
• Clipboard contents or your exact typing pattern

5. Advertising

The App shows advertisements from Google AdMob: a banner on the insight screen and, occasionally, a full-screen ad after you finish a session. Ads are never shown while you are writing or while a discard animation is playing.

To serve and measure ads, Google may process device and advertising identifiers and related data. See Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses data from apps that use its services. Your written text is never included in an ad request.

6. Your consent choices

Where required (for example in the European Economic Area and the UK), the App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to ask for your consent before personalised ads are requested. You can change your choice at any time from Settings → Privacy choices in the App. Declining consent does not restrict any feature of the App — writing, discarding and insights all work the same way.

7. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Retention and deletion

Because nothing is sent to a server, there is nothing for us to retain. Insight records stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. You can erase every insight record at any time from Settings → Delete all insight data, or from the insight screen. Uninstalling the App removes all of its local data.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EEA and UK under the GDPR, and California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection regarding personal data. Since we hold no personal data about you on any server, these rights are exercised on your device using the deletion controls described above. You may still contact us with any question or request.

10. Not a medical service

Emotion Bin is a self-expression tool. It is not a medical device, not a mental-health service, and it does not diagnose, treat, or provide advice. The emotion gauge is a visual effect, not an assessment of your psychological state. If you are in crisis, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line in your country.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
